Discover Scuba Diving goes beyond a simple try dive: it's an official PADI program where you make your first real dive in the sea. You breathe underwater for the first time and feel the incredible sensation of weightlessness. No previous experience or certification needed.
At TossaDivers, every Discover Scuba Diving session is a personalized experience. Your PADI instructor will guide you every step of the way, from the first briefing to your dive in the crystal-clear waters of Tossa de Mar.
And the best part: your Discover Scuba Diving dives count as credit toward the PADI Open Water Diver course. It's not just a one-day activity — it's the real start of your diving journey.
How does it work?
Briefing
Your instructor will explain the equipment, basic breathing techniques, and underwater signals. Everything explained clearly and relaxed.
Shallow water practice
First steps underwater in a safe area. You'll learn to breathe with the regulator and move comfortably.
Real dive
Gradual descent to 6-12 meters depth. Enjoy the marine life, rocks, and posidonia of Tossa.
Memories
Your instructor will capture photos and videos of your experience to take home an unforgettable memory.

Is it the same as a try dive?
Yes. The Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) is the official PADI name for a try dive — backed by an internationally recognised certification and the highest safety standards. We run it with certified methodology, a PADI instructor and a maximum ratio of 2 students per instructor: safer and more personalised than a standard try dive.
Is Discover Scuba Diving safe?
Absolutely. You'll be with a certified PADI instructor at all times who will ensure your safety. Equipment is checked before every dive.
How long does the experience last?
The standard Discover Scuba Diving lasts about 1.5 hours (20 min underwater). The Premium lasts about 2.5 hours (45 min underwater).
Can I do it if I'm not a strong swimmer?
You need basic swimming skills, but you don't need to be an expert swimmer. The diving equipment helps you float.
Can I do it as a group?
Yes, it's perfect for couples, families, or groups of friends. Maximum ratio of 2 participants per instructor.
Can I gift it?
Yes, we have gift cards for both options. The recipient can choose the date that suits them best.
Does Discover Scuba Diving count toward Open Water?
Yes. The PADI Discover Scuba Diving is not just a one-off experience — it's the real start of your scuba training. Your dives count as credit toward the PADI Open Water Diver course, the first certification level.
What should I bring?
Just bring a swimsuit, towel and flip-flops. All diving equipment (wetsuit, fins, mask, regulator and tank) is included.
Is there parking nearby?
TossaDivers does not have its own parking. Tossa de Mar has limited parking spaces, especially in summer. We recommend arriving early to find a spot without stress.
